ElectroScan.
The precise dates for the initial concept and development of the ElectroScan technology are somewhat ambiguous, and go back about 30 years. Beginning about 15 years ago, Rob Harris (Leak Busters) worked diligently with a manufacturer in developing a marketable implementation of the ElectroScan technology, and with establishing ASTM standard: F 2550 - 06; ASCE recommendations; And WEF and EPA approval of the capabilities of the technology.
The initial system was called FELL - Focused Electrode Leak Location, and was the predecessor to the new ElectroScan System.
Within our SE-USA Region, Leakage Consultants is partnering with ElectroScan, Inc. to deliver the ElectroScan Systems (ES-660, ES-38), as well as direct technology evaluations via Pilot Projects and fee-based, evaluation demos. Our first system deliveries should begin In March, 2012, and will be the ElectroScan-38 sewer lateral leak detection system.
Over the next several months, we will be announcing the establishment of implementation partners for the ElectroScan-660 (large diameter mains) who will be capable of performing SSES, as well as pilot projects and on-demand pipe defect analysis. Check back often for an updated list of ElectroScan service providers. If you're interested, please contact ElectroScan @ b3oTek.com.
What's important is that ElectroScan is available NOW, and has successfully completed an evaluation by the EPA in KC, MO the week of 8/23/10. The EPA evaluation team presented their results at WEF's Collection Conference in Raleigh, NC (2011). (It's All Good!)
Your next step? Join our "SewerNology" mailing list and receive a flyer. Then, visit b3oeXpo for a list of SE-USA locations where we'll be making presentations. Also, consider a Pilot Project for your utility this year.
Don't wait for later in 2012, and then 2013's budget. Do it now and budget for 2012!
SSES and elimination of I & I can't wait.
